01The disappearing beat

The beat disappears. Can you keep it alive?

Listen for 8 beats. When the sound cuts out, tap the next 8 from memory. No moving cue. Just you and your sense of time.

What is measured? What stays private?

Timing accuracy combines closeness to the eight silent beats with missed and extra taps. Mean error is your average distance from matched beats; stability is the spread of your beat-to-beat intervals. Lower milliseconds means steadier timing. With fewer than three matched taps, stability is not available. These are this round’s measurements, not a world ranking or a diagnosis.

No account, cookies, analytics or uploads. Audio is synthesized in your browser; downloads stay on your device. A challenge link contains only the rhythm, tempo and seed, never your result. Nothing is saved between visits unless you save a file or link. The link checksum catches damage; it is not a signature.

Browser scheduling, speakers, headphones and touchscreens can add latency. No microphone is used. Hidden tabs or interrupted audio cancel the round rather than invent a score. Try again on the same setup for a more useful comparison.
